At Cage Green, we take children's understanding of how to stay safe online very seriously. We regularly teach children ways to be safe online through PSHE sessions, assemblies and computing lessons. It is important that the children have the same messages taught to them at home when accessing the internet through various devices. 'Internet Matters' Online Safety App

Below is a link to the 'Internet Matters' website where parents can download an interactive app which is great to play with children 8-10 years old. The app is based on a two player game with questions and scenarios to discuss with children. It gives parents the opportunity to pause for discussion about a variety of online safety areas.

The documents below outline Cage Green's Online Safety policy and practice

There are two documents relating specifically to students. The THINK THEN CLICK poster has been displayed prominently in all areas where children access the internet, and should you decide to place one near your home PC, this will support the school's practice very effectively.

The "12 Rules for Responsible Use" is the student AUP, and forms the basis of our on-line safety teaching. Again, you will be strongly re-inforcing the online safety message if you adopt these rules at home.

The two PDF files are the Byron Review, which is currently the Government's core research document on online safety, and the condensed children's version. Our Online Safety policy and training is based heavily on the findings of these documents.
