Financial Support for Families
Many of our families are feeling the impact of the financial crisis affecting the UK at the moment. Families are always welcome to come into school to talk to us about benefits they may be eligible for. We have been able to refer lots of families for support with fuel costs this winter and are able to refer families to the Tonbridge Foodbank. We also have school uniform available for those in need, our own foodbank in the entrance hall which anyone can drop in and use and we regularly do second hand uniform sales. Our PTFA run sales to support families with the fun things in life such as fancy dress costume sales and Christmas jumper sales. We also run penny books sales so that children have access to good quality books for 1p and toy sales at Christmas so that all children can have great presents.
If you are not sure whether your child is eligible for free school meals, please come in and have a chat with us. Miss Harper is an expert at Free School Meals and Pupil Premium applications and will gladly support with this process.
Please see below for a list of websites that can provide advice about benefits you might be eligible for. As always, our Pastoral Team is available to support parents with understanding and accessing these sites and systems where it is needed. They are always VERY happy to help!
There is a Government website where it is possible to search eligibility for a range of benefits. This can be found at:
https://www.gov.uk/cost-of-living
Within this site, there is a financial support checker where, by answering a number of simple questions, you can check your eligibility.

Also being advertised on TV at the moment is another site set up specifically to help in the current economic crisis. Unfortunately, they do not seem to keep this entirely up to date, but there are some useful links.

Please let us know if we can help you with this.
